Florida Real Estate Blog - Realtors Wake Up!
By searchjim on Dec 26, 2007 in Featured, Real Estate Blogs
I stumbled upon a Florida Real Estate Blog today and thought I should make an example of it. Jack & Cyndee Haydon are a husband & wife Real Estate Consulting team based in Clearwater Florida. In addition to the full service real estate features you would expect, they have more information about Clearwater and Tampa than the Chamber of Commerce. It gives you a real feel for the area whether your buying real estate or not. Jack & Cyndee make excellent use of rss feeds too….check out the site here Clearwater Beach Real Estate.
So here’s the message Realtors, start your blog and write informative info about your area. Be more authoritative than the Chamber of Commerce and soon the traffic will start rolling in. Invite your visitors to join the conversation, keep in touch with them, then turn them into clients. Start blogging today!
If your already a Blogging Realtor, make a comment and share your blog. Please subscribe to the comments so you can check out any new Real Estate Blogs added.

Jim, thank you for sharing our site - we began blogging about 1 year ago and learned alot and worked to create a “client focused” blog. The great news is that this new site have had over 4000 unique visitors in Nov and December and over 1200 MLS searches monthly which as you can imagine is the kind of traffic real estate agents want.
We have a full pipeline even in this market and the best part is that clients call us and select us based on our blog - they say they feel like they know us already.
Anyone looking to get started should give you a call and design it with SEO in mind - I often tease new real estate bloggers that write without understanding SEO - “Wow that’s a great article - do you sell real estate in Russia, Alaska or Kalamazoo?” My point to them is most don’t know how to have their great posts “found” - getting the help of an expert like you can make the difference between experiencing blogging success and frustration. Again - thanks for the kind words - looking forward to learning and growing together. - Cyndee Haydon

Hi Jim,
Thank you! I’m trying! The hard part isn’t so much the blogging but keeping up with other blogs and keeping on top of the game. My business plan this year includes “appointments” for keeping up on blogs!
It is very pretty here in the Poconos - only when the snow is fresh. ha ha. Right now, the snow has partially melted and frozen over and the roadways are all dirty. I’m ready for the next storm to clean things up for a day or two!

I too am an admirer of Jack and Cyndee’s Florida real estate blog- they have done a phenomenal job in a very short period of time. I’m anxious to see where their journey takes them in 2008!
I’ll play the game! My new blog: http://www.chicohomesearch.net
I’ll be watching for other new blogs added to the comments- great idea

Sandi…Very nice Blog and I would really like to have that couch! Looks like you have a nice stream of traffic too. Job well done and Thanks for visiting. Your Blog and Jack and Cyndee’s are fine examples of “The Future of Real Estate Websites.” I wish I could find a Wordpress plugin to customize the idx listings though. Hope all is well in Chico,
Jim

Jim - I wish there was too! When we research idx solutions there are some great ones that have been developed but we were limited by our MLS board. They will only let us have this canned function right now (and we pay to have it) unless we set up our own real estate brokerage and pay $2000 then we can get a stream of data and customize rss feeds etc. lots of cool options - evidently brokers use it to make money off their agents charging each agent $200/mo - it’s SOooooooooooo Frustrating! If you do come up with a creative solution - please keep us in mind. - Cyndee Haydon

Hi Jim, just trying this again since my first post got eaten.
Basically I said that smart bloggers will keep an eye on Cyndee and Jack’s blogs (along with others but the article is about the Clearwater Experts…
)
So we’re posting links to our blogs? My main blog that has everything is on Active Rain
Lake Wallenpaupack Real Estate
but I have a few others on Blogger that are focused on specific areas. Active Rain is the big melting pot one though.

I subscribe to Cyndee and Jack’s blog and it really is a beautiful site for sure. And I can’t imagine, from their posts, that anyone in Clearwater knows that area better than they do.
I’ve been working on my blog to emulate those whose blogs I admire, so here’s my blog as others have added above me:

Thanks!

Back from the holidays it seems I’m a little late to the party, but Cyndee and Jack definitely have it going on in Clearwater beach…Check out my new real estate blog, with slightly different twist, at CharlotteCommunitiesOnline.com… Terry McDonald

I have arrived breathlessly late to the party, but want to congratulate you on a great article about a great team of Clearwater, FLA Realtors. They not only know Clearwater better than the backs of their own hands, they describe it in detail.
Care to visit San Diego?

Hey Jim - glad to see you still partying over here - us REALTORS are a fun bunch!
There are lots of great blogs that have chimed in here as well - for anyone looking to gt started they’re got some excellent examples to check out! Just stopped by to say “hi”

Hi Cyndee…yes you are a fun bunch and I’ve been enjoying your posts too. Nice restaurant review today, you are more info than the Chamber. I’m amazed at your posting frequency, how you have time to sell Real Estate I’ll never know. It’s below zero in Indiana today, dreaming of Clearwater. Jim

@Jim - we have been crazy with real estate activity so I don’t sleep much right now(lol)
Seriously I find if I think ahead and take photos in the community when I’m out and about I can put together an interesting “insiders look” as what’s happening.(ok I hope they’re interesting :)) Any way the restaurant and the library were 2 examples of quick easy post because I had taken the photos ahead of time.
I’ve got so many others I want to write but time is a factor - we joke at times that these clients are cramping our blogging (of course that’s why we blog in the first place) - it’s all working like a charm we will top 6000 unique visitors this month and maybe 7K
Thanks for hanging in the hammock with me!

Hi Jim,
Cyndee is excellent and knows her stuff. I know her from being members of Active Rain. I have spoken with Cyndee on the phone as well as trading comments on our blogs.

I’m somewhat new to the Realty world, none of the Realtors in my area are blogging(Yet). Is Active Rain a “must do” for Realtors? Does it help business? Jim
